Despite my efforts in all of my studying
My GPA sits lower than the amount that I’m working
And at work, no matter how quickly im moving
I always stay slow coordination is not my thing
I have 7 different concepts producing that I’m writing for
But I can’t focus on 1, to bring quality to music sure
I may rhyme a sentence or more but compared to the
Artists I listen to, I wouldn’t be worth even four
Dollars, Next to the royalty I stream on my phone
Been involved with music for 10 years but my skills
Still aren’t flowing onto the page that I write
And the beats being created are too basic, haven’t found my niche that people listen for
Everybody has a struggle for purpose
I know my purpose but translating it into the world that I call my own, has proven difficult
Between the path I know and the pressures placed by all
Pulled back and fourth like tug of war
I was running from my past, running so fast that I dashed passed a camera, didn’t flash
I asked my self is the fast life even worth the stress on our shoulders that lasts, probably not
So I pulled over, told the cab driver, Ima walk the rest of the way till I crash
Expectations of myself I thrashed, no more breaks in momentum, I can’t handle more whiplash
GPA not high but who really cares, Luckily accepted over some of my other peers
I may be slow but the work I put in, I knows it’s my best so I’m not ashamed
Music is an art that needs practice so enough complaining time to take action
Purpose is the war of person so noone else fight for my path I will find it in a dash
