The empathy needed for feeling the frayed neurons
Which divide us
Is polluted by anger that begets violence
Anger created by distrust
Of your own worthiness
Inside of your split chakras
Pillages all of our dreams
On Monday morning
Standing next to an elderly woman
Who must visit the local clinic
By 10 a.m. in order to see her favorite doctor
Who taps her knees with a pink mallet
That looks like the one used by her pediatrician when she was a little girl
She remembered feeling that his eyes and touch
Believed in the grace and femininity of female anatomy
An anatomy that tells us to be strong in generosity
Courageous when confused
Warm and supportive at all times
Even when our physicality is drained
Even when our motor skills stop purring
Their anatomy reminds us that Earth shakes, spits, rattles, rocks, and rolls
Despite our natural itch to scratch and claw
Within our gray matter
Which then manifests itself into
The tossing of objects
The throwing of Mario fireballs
The spraying of manipulated words
The spitting of knifed verbs for dinner
Until you remember the moments warmer than blueberry pie
When your chakras glow beneath your lung
Feeling warmer than wood logs
Kissed with a match from your favorite bar
On Rivington, whose brunch is always served
With a long hug and bass that you like
Way before Facebook told you how to feel at all times
As times before Facebook allowed you the capacity
To hate, then ask questions when later came calling
That usually did not happen
So time passed slowly, where we looked in the sky
A cool, calm wind
Needed
To laugh with our children.
Dreaming not only of the future
Where prophecy existed in our dreams
But of a present still
Until a leader took action
Walking through neighborhoods
Showing business plans for the marginalized
Where architects can draw
Where business leaders can share ideas
Index cards
Design stills
Performance reports
Their family members' business cards
Pens with a logo
To write about the plans that empower the people
Who have the warm spirit to continue the growth
Of that blue flame inside of their stomach pit
The eternal one
That's it
That one
