We don't listen to our teachers, or the preacher on the streets 
We don't listen to television 
We don't listen to the news 
We don't listen to nobody who's tying to sell me their views

Reggae, Ska, Dub and Soul 
We listen to Jungle, Gypsy Jazz, Rhythm Blues and Rock & Roll 
We listen to Calypso, Samba, Skiffle and Swing 
But if what you're saying don't make sense

They couldn't even capture my attention with that Ritalin 
I don't register the rhetoric they're readily delivering 
The tabloid rag or the scripture that its written in 
I went to their schools but didn't study their curriculum

Until I'm no longer fitting in with none of their conditioning

The President or The King

They're not listening either 
Little Caesers, quick to trick and deceive ya 
Enlist a believer to petition the speaker, but its theatre 
You'll never get to see the real leaders 
They teach their elites to be narcissistic 
Until their hearts are twisted, it ain't half sadistic 
And then they treat the people like they are statistics 
All done with a smile like it's part of the business 
And they want to expand, see there's lots of demand 
But there's never been a system we cannot supplant 
So we've had a proper gander at their plots and plans 
To make off with grands, before they wash their hands 
And now across the land, there's a deficit in our attention 
Akin to what they left in the benefits and pensions 
We don't listen to a single thing they mention 
Cause they only take our power when we let them
