The heat's too much to bear, it's more than I can stand 

You see I barely leave my room anymore 
Accustomed to the dark 
And I rarely get up before noon 
And sometimes I don't get dressed at all 
And I don't see my friends 

I don't like the feeling of the sand between my toes 
I prefer the carpet on my feet 
And I don't like the hustle and the bustle of the people 
I prefer the comfort between the sheets 
I'm safe in my bed 

I'm the whitest kid on the beach 
My legs will blind your eyes 
When the sun shines on my thighs 
I'm the palest kid in the sand 
I think I'd really like it if you tried to understand 

I'm uncomfortable at best 
In sandals and a summer dress 
Now I'm sweating my skin off 
And I look a complete mess 
And everyone's looking at me 

No I'm not used to being around other people 
Plans were never made and when they are they fall through 
And now I'm too full of self loathing 
To send even a message to you 
I'm losing all my friends
