Psalm 51

Psalm 51, one of the penitential psalms, is the 51st psalm of the Book of Psalms, beginning in English in the King James Version: "Have mercy upon me, O God". In the slightly different numbering system used in the Greek Septuagint and Latin Vulgate translations of the Bible, this psalm is Psalm 50. In Latin, it is known as Miserere, (Ancient Greek: ἐλέησόν με ὁ θεός, romanized: eléēsón me ho theós) in Ancient Greek: Ἥ Ἐλεήμων, romanized: Hḗ Eleḗmōn), especially in musical settings. The introduction in the text says that it was composed by David as a confession to God after he sinned with Bathsheba. The psalm forms a regular part of Jewish, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Protestant liturgies. more »

They say it's one for the money, two for the dough
Had me running for that money, hustle hustle let's go now
Three, gotta get that paper
For all this that I want
You aint getting nowhere with that work inside your trunk fool
Babies out here crying, daddy with the police lying
Now he aint gonna see him for a minute for supplying
That mess we had them buying
That's keeping their minds in iron
Thinking they're flying, but they frying
Fantasizing that they're rising up

But the truth is you just dug
Yourself up in the same hole that the last generation was
And then our sons follow
Cause we don't show them nothing but that same old model
Hitting that same bottle, full throttle, till it crash too
Trynna be like me and you
You can hide from the truth, I'll tell it
No hook to reel them in, just talking over boom-bap beats I'm feeling
And I been the villain
That poison I used to push to pack my pockets with paper with president's faces
Takes five every hour no break or hesitation to break ya
My excuse, I was broke and aint no other options
Well aint no options for the fallen
Used to be my homeboy till addiction took a toll
He died and more kids overdosing
I heard the homie - gone too
I used to toss him pills, he wanted the most potent
And they wonder why I stay ghosting
Cause I was just coasting
With no idea of the damage I was doing for them dollars I would roll in
I beg God take the guilt up off me
I see the Cross, I know the debt I owe is costly
Can't recognize myself in the mirror, I know how far He brought me
But the thoughts still race
And memories don't fade
I should've been in a cell
They should've never seen the grave
They say the good die young
I say we live too fast
All I wanna do is hit up Flash and hitch a ride to the past
Nobody perfect, that cash isn't worth it
The curse we bare, we sing about it so the next generation try to follow us there
And they ask why I gave up rap and changed my sound
I aint sending more kids to the morgue in a dead-end lifestyle
We act proud of to move the crowd
I tell the truth they think it's emo rap
I think they need more facts
Don't need no pat on the back
And I get paid homie, by God's grace He made a way for that
So I can flow freely
Don't need a label, all a label does is keep you in a box and hold you back
Trynna fit that description
They said we fit the description
Patted me down but can't stop me
Aint no chains to hold me now
I been free, God got me
