The bright lights and big city
A long way from the windy
In search of something great like Akeem and Semi
The journey to get there was started by plenty
And failed by many yet I'm rising over envy
If I can make it there I can make it anywhere
So I packed up my dreams and let go of my cares
Feeling like Mike when he glides across the air
So focused is my stare, never blinded by her glare
So I hear, she's really lovely and beautiful
But at times her heart feels like it's two below
And that analogy be feeling quite suitable
But when you not from here those things that you will know
Had to do it couldn't second guess the chance
Enjoy life and cease the moments when I can
I packed all that I had and I threw it in the van
Just know that it's all apart of the plan, nah I'm saying

You gotta lose your
Lose yourself
Lose yourself to gain
You gotta lose your
Lose yourself
Lose yourself to gain
You gotta lose your
Lose yourself
Lose yourself to gain
You gotta lose your
Lose yourself
Lose yourself to gain

So I sacrificed for this dream of mine
Had to hop the fence to see what's on the other side
All feels like a dream in another life
Fast days, fast nights, man I love this high
Spinning outta control, no one will ever know
Driving down a path, losing lotta my soul
Pass me the drink, who got the green to roll
I would supposed, I'm not the R.O.E. they've gotten to know
Not letting it show, covered to mask the pain
The world would never know as long as I entertain
As long as I am ahead and never veering out my lane
They started calling it art, they started calling it sane
But deep in my heart, I never wanted to change
And pointed to fingers to whoever I thought was the blame
Had to learn these lessons and the rules of the game
If I ever wanted to fame, I knew I knew I knew I knew had to

You gotta lose your
Lose yourself
Lose yourself to gain
You gotta lose your
Lose yourself
Lose yourself to gain
You gotta lose your
Lose yourself
Lose yourself to gain
You gotta lose your
Lose yourself
Lose yourself to gain
