Right next to the front door
There's a wall mounted lamp
With a small hole in the back
And we rented out the space
But the tenants never pay
But it doesn't bother me
They pay with their company
I ask them if they're cousins
To the ones in our backyard
The wall dwellin' friends of the snails
To get around they work so hard

My gecko friends, they run away
If I open up the door too fast
But it's enough just to see these fellas
As I walk right past
Saw the gecko pair lookin eye to eye
When you dropped me off at my house that night
No, I'm not very superstitious
But I wanted it to be a sign
I haven't seen the geckos lately
And I hope they're not dead
Cause I will mourn them forever
But I'm not ready to let go yet
