I got a letter in the mail, the Calling, and I've been expecting it my whole life
It was a letter from the Organization
Getting this letter has been an expectation from my family since I'll be a 3rd generation Bearer after my father and grandfather
Stepping into this role has brought me anxiety since I didn't really know how to own up to it on my own
I hope that I can learn to desire this calling for my own sake
I hope that my familiarity with this world won't hold me back I know I'll need someone for the journey ahead I pray that I don't push them away
It came as a surprise to me
The Organization doesn't just summon anyone & I had to shift my whole worldview
I was a simple Citizen, growing up in a space rarely reached by the Organization
I was nowhere near prepared for the culture I was soon to enter
I had no prior perspective
I was wide-eyed, young & naive
I received the Calling, and I had enough understanding to know that wasn't something to take lightly
I was finally about to learn who I truly was, and that is what scared me the most
It was time to leave the home I knew, and enter into the intricate unknown
