Peng!

Stereolab

About Peng!

Peng! is the debut studio album by English-French rock band Stereolab. It was released on 26 May 1992 in the United Kingdom by Too Pure and in the United States by American Recordings. The cover art and album title (a German onomatopoeia for a loud pop or bang) are derived from a cartoon called "der tödliche finger" that appeared in a 1970 issue of Hotcha, a Swiss underground newspaper. Different panels of the same cartoon were adapted into cover art for other early Stereolab releases.
