The Natty Lions Biography! The band was formed in 2016 by Natty King Elijah Dombo, Kevin "Stallion" Stali and Mulalo "Briscoman" Mukwevho from Ha-Nesengani Tshivhazwaulu Ha-Mangilasi, outside Vuwani in Limpopo. They dropped a demo song title "Lufuno lwa vhukuma", this is where the band Natty Lions was formed. On the 15th of May 2017, Natty King Elijah Dombo Also known as The Lion Poet went to Gauteng province where he met Mulugisi "Zion Teacher" Mamafha Ndivhuwo also known as Ras Natty in Soweto Tshiawelo and they carry on with The Natty Lions band. It was here that The Natty Lions professional music journey started when they meet MC-A Andrew Nkhumeleni of Unik Prodakshin Studio based in Tshiawelo, Soweto and they immediately started work on their first project together. first album Jah Rastafari 'CDTNL001' was released in September 2017 and a mini album with four songs Legalize It 'CDTNL002' was released in December 2017, followed by Legalize It 'CDTNL003' in September 2018. This was made possible by the likes of Unik Prodakshin of MC-A Andrew Nkhumeleni and GBM Music Production of Masala 'GeraBoy' Mudau. On the 4th of May 2019 The Natty Lions won the best Reggae Song Award for ‘Mary my Love’ off their album Jah Rastafarah. The Natty Lions won the Best Reggae Song Award at the 6th Annual South African Upcoming Music Awards (SAUMA) at a gala ceremony held on May 04 2019 at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg. The awards, organised by Huvera Entertainment are aimed at recognizing excellence in the music industry for upcoming musicians and artists. Another milestone in The Natty Lions band is the contribution in Inity Lockdown Riddim Album played by Steve Netshishivhe and Lufuno Munzhelele at Deep Roots Studio in Pretoria, with the 'Lockdown Alert' poetry song led by Natty King Elijah The Lion Poet featuring Ras Clemy Nevari recorded at Ananius Ani B Begwa's MB Records in Ṱhohoyandou.
