Maria Shiel (Feat. Steve Wickham)

Maria Shiel is a songwriter, musician and artist from the west of Ireland. She has performed shows across Ireland, Europe and the USA including legendary venues CBGB’s in New York and The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. In 2011 she set up collaborative record label KYO Records to promote international, cross-genre musical collaboration and went on to work with musicians from Europe, China, Russia, and the USA. Through Kyo Records she released music under her electronic moniker MS44 and collaborated with acclaimed Irish producer Eomac and award winning Finnish electronic artist Axel Thesleff. She releases her full length solo Transatlantic-Americana record ‘Fire in the Sea!’ Feb 2021. A unique take on transatlantic irish-americana, ‘Fire in the Sea!’ pays homage to her west of Ireland roots and is inspired by the Atlantic ocean and the landscapes of America. It combines influences from both sides of the Atlantic including americana, bluegrass, country, Irish and indigenous roots music. Calling Me Back, lead single made the RTE Radio 1 Recommends list upon release.
