Jim Stapley

Jim is the eldest of 4 brothers born in Manchester, he then moved south at 11yrs old. He came from a very musical family, all played guitars/ sang and regularly did gigs together. In time honoured rock'n'roll tradition he left school at 17 after joining a band in London, he was bunking off school to go to rehearsals. He signed his first publishing deal at 18, working with a band called Dekko, writing with Pete Brown (Cream, Piblokto etc) Subsequently he left that band and worked with various writers which ended up with him signing a record deal with Ironworks Music (Kiefer Sutherland & Jude Cole) in LA. It was here that He recorded his first album. Jim was brought up on a diet of Springteen. Free, Humble Pie, The Faces, Tom Petty, The Beatles, Led Zep, Cream, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Elton John, Pink, Foo Fighters, Black Keys, Jack White, Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cook, Michael Jackson, Etta James, Dusty Springfield and loads more…. He has signed a new deal with MITA records and will be releasing an album Autumn 2014
