Hal was a performer since age five, starting a band in the 50s and continued as an early 60s rock 'n roll artist, traveling with the Alan Freed Shows. He teamed up with Matt Murphy and they did some studio work for Chuck Berry. To date he has seven albums, four singles, three movies and a slew of TV appearances. As a founding member of the Straight-Up Blues Band, Hammer recorded two blues album with the group, co-writing "Blues Inside My Head" with Ralph Straight. Later, founding the Cross Creek Blues Band, Hal Hammer, Jr., spent some twenty years producing Free Floating Sandbar Concerts with his wife, Terri. Their Wedding Concert was recorded and mastered at Paradise Studios. "Wedding Jam . . . Live at the Altar" , released in 2019, has had play in 132 countries. Hammer is now semi retired and operated a vacation rental resort, "Rocky Ridge Resorts, on a mountain top in Tennessee.
