Precious Memories is a traditional gospel song credited to J. B. F. Wright in 1925. Wright was born in Tennessee, February 21, 1877. It has been performed by a wide variety of famous recording artists including Tammy Wynette, Rosetta Tharpe, Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Emmylou Harris, Daniel O'Donnell, the Edwin Hawkins Singers, a duet by George Jones & Patti Page, Jim Reeves, Bob Dylan, Waylon Jennings, J. J. Cale, and James Blackwood's quartet. Dolly Parton recorded the song on her 1999 Dollywood-exclusive album benefitting the Dollywood Foundation, Precious Memories. Her sister, Stella Parton, recorded the song for her gospel album Appalachian Gospel. A cover by The Stanley Brothers can be heard on Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) radio at the beginning of The Walking Dead fourth-season premiere episode, "30 Days Without An Accident". Susan Raye's cover was in the opening and closing credits sequences of Paul Schrader's crime drama, Hardcore (1979). Bob Dylan ( /ˈdɪlən/; born Robert Allen Zimmerman; May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, author, poet and artist. He has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for more than five decades. This old gospel song was originally copyrighted in 1925 by J. Wright , but there are a lot of covers with new lyrics and arrangements , Jimmy Reed , Johnny Cash , Aretha Franklin among others . Dylan does a new revision and recorded at Delta Sound ,NY, late July 1984 and released in overdubbed form on Knocked out Loaded (1986) . The live debut came in 1989 at The Beacon Theatre (NYC) on 13th October (as well The Man in the Long Black Coat) , which was posted on Youtube by Artur Artist channel . At the end of the concert , Dylan does a ''disappearing act'' while to play hand-held harmonica sitting on his heels during Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat , he jumped down the stage through one of the exit doors still playing the harmonica , and disappears through one of the exit doors . The band look totally confused , but continue to play for quite awhile not knowing if Dylan is coming back or not . But he doesn't . Days after in another concert at Upper Darby (Pennsylvannia) Dylan does his dissapearing act for second and last time (bjorner.com) . more »
