LGC is an independent, science-based service company providing chemical, biochemical and DNA based analysis. LGC is Europe's largest, independent analytical laboratory.

LGC participates in the European Reference Materials concept, together with the Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements (IRMM) of the European Commission's Directorate General Joint Research Centre and the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM).
