Kristinia DeBarge is an American R&B singer. Her father, James DeBarge, was a founding member of 1980s R&B family group DeBarge. Kristinia was first featured on the 2003 American Idol spinoff, American Juniors. She sang the song "Reflection" from the Disney movie Mulan in the first group of ten semifinalists, but did not progress to the Top Ten.
Kristinia broke into mainstream music with her single "Goodbye," which samples Steam's 1969 hit "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye." The single was released to radio several weeks before its original impact date. Popular Top 40 Z100 in New York, and WKSC-FM in Chicago have played the song. The song is also featured in a Nivea television ad campaign that is running from April 6, 2009 through July 13, 2009. The single was released to iTunes on April 7, 2009 by the Island Def Jam Music Group. The single is quickly rising to popularity as of the 2 of May 2009 at 18 on iTunes Top 100 Singles.
Kristinia's debut album will be released by Sodapop Music, a new division of Island Def Jam Music. Many of the tracks were written and produced by Babyface.Her debut album is scheduled to be released on June 30, 2009.
