Klaatu may refer to:
Named after the main character in the 1951 science fiction film," The Day The Earth Stood Still", Klaatu, is a Canadian rock band from Toronto. It's first album was released in 1976, with no credits to be found besides "Klaatu", and they made no public appearances. Because Klaatu did not put any credits on their albums, people started a rumour that they were The Beatles, reunited.Rolling stone magazine declared them "Hype of the year" in 1977, for this rumour. The rumour increased their album sales. However, when the rumour died, and many listeners found out that Klaatu were not The Beatles reunited, their album sales dropped. This did not stop them from making albums though. In September 1977 they released their second album "Hope", which won them a Juno award that yearfor best engineered album. Their third album, "Sir Army Suit", credits the album cover artists, and has a picture of the band members on it, but still no names for them. Their fourth album, "Endangered Species",pictures and writing credits are included. The members of Klaau are John Woloschuk, Dee Long, and Terry Draper, three studio musicians from Toronto,Ont.Canada. The group's fifth and final album,"Magentalane", was released in Canada, in October of 1981. The group then toured Canada that same year, and then disbanded.
