Eagle Seagull is a band from Nebraska that formed in 2004, with just the core members Eli and Carrie. Carrie demanded that Eli allow both her Fiance (Austin) and her boyfriend (JJ) into the band. Eli knew that without Carrie in the band, and her father managing them, they would have no chance at playing the "Tippins Festival" in Tippins, GA. He agreed, and found the results to be outstanding. The festival went off without a hitch and, a new song "Play on guitar man" was written after the show, touting the lead guitar prowess of Austin.
Two months later they met the other Britt and Mike at an open mic jam session. They were performing in their flight of the conchords tribute act called "flight of the choncords". They were hired to fill out the rhythm section of the band, but there were complications due to Mike's college obligations, and Britt's snoring. The band hosted a benefit show in their hometown of Lincoln, NE to get Britt surgery to correct his snoring, and around that same time Mike failed out of college due to his rigorous softball schedule (ironically, he was never on a team, he just enjoyed going to games). The band was finally free to start touring full time.
They released their eponymous debut album in 2006 and recently released an EP, called "I Hate EP's" in March 2008. According to the band's website, their second album, "The Year of the How-To Book", is tentatively scheduled to be released in January 2009.
