It was written by Jepsen, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Peter Svensson, and Steve DaMar; and produced by Svensson. The song was released as the album's lead single on 2 March 2015. "I Really Like You" peaked at number fourteen on the Canadian Hot 100. Internationally, the song peaked at number one in Scotland, within the top ten of the charts in Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Japan, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa and the United Kingdom, while peaking within the top twenty of the charts in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, and Switzerland. The song's accompanying music video featured Tom Hanks and Justin Bieber, and was released 5 March 2015.
