Chick Webb & His Savoy Orchestra was a prominent American jazz and swing band led by drummer and bandleader Chick Webb. The orchestra gained popularity during the 1930s and played regularly at the famous Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, New York City. Despite Webb's physical disabilities, he was a highly influential and skilled drummer, and his band was known for its energetic performances and tight arrangements. Webb's orchestra also helped to launch the careers of several renowned jazz musicians, most notably the legendary vocalist Ella Fitzgerald.
