Bill Pinkney & The Drifters were an American vocal group formed in 1953. Bill Pinkney, a bass singer, joined The Drifters in 1950 and became the last surviving member of the original group. The Drifters were known for their smooth harmonies and hits like "Under the Boardwalk" and "Save the Last Dance for Me." Bill Pinkney & The Drifters continued to perform and record throughout the years, and Pinkney was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
